How Apprenticeships work?
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. One of the main benefits to this is that you will earn whilst you learn.
You will gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience within your chosen sector. Enhancing your CV and future employability options as you progress within your career. As an apprentice you will learn both on-the-job and off-the-job with the support of your employer and our training team. Personal development should not be underestimated, an apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to build upon a range of wider skills.
As an apprentice you will:
- Be an employee earning a wage and getting holiday pay
- Work alongside experienced staff
- Gain job-specific skills
- Get time for training and study related to your role (at least 20% of your normal working hours)
- Develop your English and maths skills in line with your apprenticeships requirements and personal circumstances
Apprenticeships take one to five years to complete depending on their level.
